Inside the Making of Our New Admissions Video: A Look at Logos Through the Eyes of Our Team

When families begin exploring Logos School, they’re often searching for more than a new academic environment — they’re searching for understanding, stability, and a path forward. Our new Admissions video was created with that purpose at its core: to give families an authentic look at who we are, what we value, and how we support students every day.

What makes this video especially meaningful is that it was created entirely by members of our own community. From filming to voiceover to on‑camera leadership, it reflects the heart of Logos because it was built by the people who live our mission daily.

A Vision Brought to Life by Nathan Sykes

The project was led by Nathan Sykes, our Athletic Director — and soon‑to‑be Academic Director beginning next school year. Nathan is known for his creativity, his ability to connect with students, and his deep understanding of the Logos mission. What many don’t see is just how multi‑talented he is behind the camera.

Nathan filmed, edited, and produced the entire video, weaving together classroom moments, therapy spaces, and student life in a way that captures the warmth and purpose of Logos. His storytelling brings forward the real experiences of our students and staff, offering families a genuine sense of what it feels like to be part of this community.

A Voice That Reflects Our Heart

The narration throughout the video is delivered by Carolyn Ferris, who teaches English Foundations and Earth Science. Her calm, steady voice guides families through the story of Logos with the same clarity and compassion she brings to her classroom.

Carolyn’s voiceover helps anchor the video in the values that define us: safety, connection, individualized support, and the belief that every student deserves a fresh start.

Leadership Perspectives from Kathy Fenger and Ryan Gist

The video also features Dr. Kathy Fenger, Executive Director, and Ryan Gist, our Director of Student Support and Restorative Justice. Their presence offers families a direct window into the leadership and philosophy behind our work.

  • Kathy speaks to the purpose behind Logos — why we exist, who we serve, and how we help students stabilize, rebuild, and thrive.

  • Ryan shares insight into the student experience, the therapeutic supports in place, and the restorative practices that help students feel safe, connected, and empowered.

Together, they help families understand not just what we do, but why it matters.

Why This Video Matters

For many families, the admissions process can feel overwhelming. They’re navigating academic struggles, emotional challenges, or school environments that simply aren’t meeting their child’s needs. This video was created to offer reassurance and clarity — to show families that they’re not alone and that there is a place designed specifically for students who need more support.

By hearing directly from the people who lead, teach, and care for our students, families can begin to picture what a new beginning might look like.

A Community Effort, A Community Story

This video is more than an introduction to our admissions process — it’s a reflection of the people who make Logos what it is. Nathan’s creativity, Carolyn’s warmth, and the leadership of Kathy and Ryan come together to tell a story that is honest, hopeful, and deeply rooted in our mission.

We’re proud to share it with you, and we hope it helps families take that first step toward finding the right fit for their child.
