Bill & Nancy's Story

Bill and Nancy Marsden joined the Logos family in 2008 after his friend Arthur Scharff, former Logos board member, shared Logos’ mission with Bill. When asked about his time on the Logos board, Bill shared, “It’s been a great 17 years to serve as a member on a great board with so many great members.” When they reflect on their service over the years, they recall the stories of students they’ve met who faced challenges that seemed insurmountable but were able to make strides towards their therapeutic and academic goals at Logos. Bill recalled meeting a student who used to face such anxiety that she hid under her desk in every class, but over time the therapeutic team was able to coax her out of her hiding place and help her develop coping skills for emotional regulation. The student talked about her plans for the future with Bill, and “it was just remarkable,” Bill said, adding, “That was just one student! Logos is doing the same thing for 100 students all the time, every year. That’s pretty amazing.”

Bill and Nancy are no strangers to the Logos community; they both thoroughly enjoy attending Logos’ formal graduations when able to support our students. Nancy says she always enjoys listening to the moving speeches the students make when it’s their turn on stage to receive the high school diploma many thought they would never achieve. When Logos was in need of help fundraising several years ago, Nancy volunteered multiple times alongside Logos parents and other board members’ spouses to raise money for adolescents to be able to access our programming.

“We have been so happy to be part of a fabulous program,” Bill remarked. “The staff that I’ve had a chance to meet over the years are just incredible, and the enthusiasm and dedication they have is remarkable. And the students, of course! That’s why we all support Logos, right?”

We are forever thankful to Bill and Nancy Marsden for their continued support of Logos and the commitment they have to our staff and students.
