Program Overview

At Logos, where every day is a new day, our goal is to ensure that our students’ academic success and therapeutic growth is strong, allowing them to go on to greater success when they leave us.

Logos School is a private special education school. At Logos, our structured but flexible environment gives students who have not been successful in a traditional classroom the space and support necessary to grow and learn.

Our entire staff works to meet students where they are and support their needs with compassion and acceptance. We go beyond simply accommodating students, and instead help them address underlying challenges so they can learn and practice the life skills necessary for success in the classroom and beyond.

We serve students in grades 6-12 and our program is accredited by ISACS and approved by DESE and ISBE. Our 11-month school year is divided into 6 terms, allowing for credit recovery and the opportunity to receive personalized attention from our expert teachers. We also offer honors courses and, last year, we established our National Honors Society with 21% of our graduates becoming members.

Our commitment to excellence is reflected in our exceptional staff-to-student ratios and the expertise of our team. With a 3:1 student-to-staff ratio and a 6:1 student-to-teacher ratio, we ensure personalized attention and support for every student. Our team includes 13 licensed therapists and 21 teachers, with 58% holding advanced degrees, guaranteeing top-notch academic instruction and therapeutic support.

At Logos, we know every adolescent deserves the chance to fulfill their own hopes and dreams for a successful future.

Our therapists provide at least 1 hour of individual therapy weekly and are available to both the student and their family. Students also participate in 2 hours of group therapy per week. Both one-on-one and group therapy sessions are individualized based on the students’ needs, but generally focus on conflict mediation, crisis intervention, anger management, and behavior modification programs.

In addition to academics and therapy, we believe in providing traditional experiences and leadership opportunities for participation in volleyball, soccer, and basketball, while social activities like prom and formal graduation create memorable experiences for our students. Additionally, our students are required to complete community service hours and have access to a range of leadership opportunities through clubs, event planning committees, mentorship and student ambassador programs, student council, and National Honors Society.

Our Transition and Testing Coordinator works with each student to assesses their interests and abilities. As part of this program, career exploration begins through individual discussions, school career day, college visits, and learning about training programs. Students engage in activities specifically designed for them to move from our program to life after Logos whether they go on to post-secondary school or directly to employment and independent living.

Providing a safe place for our students to learn is a priority that includes not only physical safety but also a trauma responsive framework that focuses on social-emotional learning.
