Academics
Every adolescent has a unique learning style. For a child struggling with mental, emotional, and learning disorders, a conventional academic environment may become a roadblock to learning and succeeding.
Logos is a private special education school where we meet each student where they are on their educational journey. Individualized assessments lead to personalized plans for every student in grades 6-12, ensuring that their unique needs are supported. Our 6:1 student-teacher ratio allows teachers to adjust their teaching styles and help students address underlying learning challenges one-on-one.
Our academics are state-approved and encompass a range of honors, remedial, and elective courses, including life skills classes and an art program. Our student-centered teaching methods support diverse learning styles and promote discovery by incorporating kinesthetic, auditory, visual, and verbal techniques. Logos provides accredited academics, state approved curriculum, honors and remedial courses, National Honor Society opportunities, and a variety of electives. Common elective classes offered throughout the year include Yearbook, Seasonal Sports Teams, Creative Writing, Reading for Recreation, Current Events, Gardening, Conservation, Music Appreciation, E-Sports, Fabric Arts and other Art Courses.
Our teachers and therapists work together in partnership with students’ families to develop individualized plans specific to each student’s time both at and after Logos. For students transitioning to life after Logos, we assess their interests and abilities and create a roadmap to prepare them for post-secondary education, employment, or independent living. For students transitioning to a different educational environment, Logos teachers assist students in preparing for the requirements of their upcoming school by developing strategies for handling assignments, improving note-taking abilities, and enhancing time management skills.
